It was 50 years ago today...

Thanks for playing "American Pie" this morning. That was my first 45 - I think I was about 8 years old. (I was a little ticked that I had to turn it over mid-song to hear the whole thing!) I remember my dad explaining to me what the song meant. My 6 year old and I heard it on the air Friday night. He was singing along with me by the end of the song. Then I explained to him what it was about. When he heard it this morning he came in the bedroom and we had to sing it together. Now he wants to hear some music by "those guys" so...I see a new CD or two in my future! Anyway - thanks for the memories this morning! And for making a new one with my son!
